Rawat, Nayak return to Ranji team

Cuttack, Nov 12, 2017 (Team OCA):

The Senior Selection Committee of Odisha Cricket Association today effected two changes in the State senior team, bringing back wicket-keeper Saurabh Rawat and off-spinner Subham Nayak for their last two Ranji Trophy Group-C match, scheduled to played against Baroda and Madhya Pradesh at Vadodara and Indore from November 17 to 20 and 25 to 28 respectively.

Rawat and Nayak replaced Abinash Shah and Alok Mangaraj in the 15-member team. Regular stumper Rawat played the first three Ranji matches of the ongoing season before he was sent to the State U-23 team. Rajesh Dhuper, who replaced Rawat in the Ranji team, cemented his place in the senior team by playing a gem of a knock in the drawn Ranji match against Tamil Nadu today. However, Rawat has been brought back into the Ranji team after playing the State U-23 team's ongoing last match against Jharkhand.

Nayak was re-included in the senior team as Odisha have no more matches to play in the C K Nayudu Trophy U-23 Tournament. The young off-spinner played one Ranji match this season against Hyderabad before being taken back to the U-23 team, which is now playing against Jharkhand. Pace bowler Alok Mangaraj is yet to play any match for the state this season.
